A thought that I have been asking myself for some time and I've been wondering what other people's dream job would be. Talking helps me think sometimes. Hopefully this is something you have already or at least is within your horizon. I've defined a dream job or career simply being paid for doing what you enjoy. To me that has been my benchmark in career seeking because if the work is something I love to do then it really wouldn't feel like work. It's a win-win.
So I'll share mine. A dream job for me is a Librarian; more specifically a Children's Librarian. This took me some time to figure out but basically I realized that I could combine books and children (what I enjoy) into a career. I love books, libraries, book shops, just BOOKS! Children I just love being around and being with them as they take those steps in learning whatever it may be. I can't believe how long it took me to realize this. Kinda embarrassing actually. I have been so focus on making my career in Elementary Education work but it's not quite something I can see myself doing in the next 10 years. Better late then never. It was after all the volunteering and part-time work in the field that saw myself simply enjoying the library.
So how close or far on the horizon is this for me? It's back to school for me. If life keeps going relatively well for me and with some luck maybe soon. Lots of planning with this one.
Now it's your guys' turn. What is your dream job and why? Do you have some goals to get it? Or do you already have it?

$25/month
....Hi
eheh, time sure flies ^^; I... got busy.
Since I last updated, my life plans got turned upside down and rewritten. Good stuff, absolutely crazy good stuff. My Librarian career got put on hold, I got married to a hubby I need to figure out how to feed, moved a few times, traveled to Scotland, and I'm figuring out the future now that I have a team player with me. Drawing and activity on this webpage took a spot on the back burner. I didn't know if I would ever pick up art again and I can't guarantee I will be active again here. Maybe now is the time for me to move on??
But things settled the past month, finally, now that I'm on summer break
Bit of an update
I just realized I haven't written in over 6 months. Well New Zealand was just lovely. 2-weeks was the bare minimum required for me to experience the place. I stuck around only in the South Island as that contains more of the glorious parts and secret spots. Being there was like walking around inside a terrarium; I loved it! It was funny how I kept having flashbacks from the UK as many things are similar such as road signs, home set ups, vocabulary, sheep, etc. But then there are several things that are unique to NZ such as the Maori people, the unspoiled land, their own quirky sayings, and such. Something I have noticed is in the USA when the
I am ashamed
Today I was forced to confront what I have been keeping in the dark for so long. I have been an American my entire life but guys.... I can't even order a stinkin burger from McDonalds correctly! As part of my job I had to help someone go eat out for community access but even I can't get that garbage right. I messed up their order like a doofus and I was too embarrassed to go back and fix it. At least my client/student didn't care and were happy for the opportunity to just go out and eat. I tried to think back to the last time I went to McDonalds; probably for nuggets but I can't really remember.
I've never ordered a burger before. What k
Get to know me
I don’t want to dwell anymore on negative events here, at least I don’t want to be bringing it up. If anyone wants to talk to me I’m always open to toss thoughts around. So here’s something different and more uplifting. ~MrMadManiac (https://www.deviantart.com/mrmadmaniac) has graciously included me in his trivia and I accept. His questions for me were quite detailed and took me some time to answer. However, I don’t feel like passing it on with tagging people unless someone wants me to ask them 13 new questions. I’m afraid people are tired of the tagging thing.

My dream job (within realistic boundaries) would have to be a historical researcher. To be tasked with reading copious original sources and documents with the aim of finding evidence on a specific event in history.
I did a bit of that already as part of some work experience with the Imperial War Museum. I traced the stories of the 'Edwards' family during the second world war, using a shoebox of letters that were donated to the museum. Within were the individual experiences of the widow, her 3 sons, her daughter and her daughter's boyfriend. It was really fascinating!
Some letters even had gifts and trinkets. The daughter sent a lock of hair to her boyfriend (which I suppose would probably have been considered romantic back then), while the boyfriend hand-painted decorations on most of his letters back (which was impressive, as he fighting in North Africa). The most interesting one was when the middle child sent some German medals that he found back to his mother for safe-keeping.
Sadly, finding a real job on the matter is a lot harder now that I'm on the job market
