Funny story.  Who knew that my April Fool’s joke would come in handy to save me? Hehehe.

So my little joke was pretty cliché where I wore a fake engagement/wedding ring the entire day and see who would notice.  Earlier I was on the public transit with some of my students (part of our program is teaching them how to access the community) and my creeper radar was going off.  In the front of the bus I noticed a man making eye contact with me (I was sitting near the back).  I tried to shrug it off except he kept staring… and staring… even grinned at me. Creepy stare

You know that uncomfortable feeling you get in your gut when something is wrong but you can’t quite explain why? Ringo Oginome Emote (Penguindrum) - Uncomfortable  <--- the feeling like.  That’s what I had for nearly half the bus ride.  He wasn’t looking at anyone else BUT me for several minutes.  Finally, he got up and made his way towards my seat.  The first words, I kid you not, were, “Are you single?”  Immediately my hand with the ring shot up with a clear, “Nope!”  He then went back to his seat and never looked at me again.  The next minute he got off the bus.  :bademoticon:  phew!

I probably broke his heart LOL but I think he’ll be fine.  Most likely he got over me just as quickly as he zoned in on me.  I don’t care how attractive you may look (or think you may look).  To me, there is much more to a person than outward appearance that weighs heavily on my judgment scale.  It’s not the first time some guys have asked me to be their girlfriend or if I’m single before names are exchanged or even small talk is given.  I like to be treated more than just another body that walks by.  For all people may know, I could be a psycho that you wanted to go out with:bademoticon:  I guess some people are so hot to trot but I’m not.  Nope nope nope! Run Away  In the moment it was a bit scary but now it’s all funny.  I probably should have asked him, “Is this an April Fool’s joke or do you just like asking random girls in public if they are single?”

Well, in the end my own little joke ending up fooling just one person today.  And I’m completely fine with that.  Have a fantastic day everyone!!

I tried the same joke...not a single student noticed (it really gave me a testimony of how little my students look at me or listen to me or even care to pay attention to my life T_T I miss my last semester students...they would have noticed).
